Heya Additions

Heya translated from Japanese means ‘small room’, which we interpreted into a range of small working spaces within an office environment. Open plan has become common within the workplace, which has delivered benefits in productivity through increased collaboration and communication. However, downsides include a lack of privacy, inability to concentrate and too many distractions. As the concept of Third Space has spread, people have sought alternative places to work, collaborate and socialise.

For individuals, Heya creates a place for people to escape, think, and breathe. For groups, Heya creates a place for people to closely collaborate and connect. Following the success of the original seating collection, we expanded the range to include workstation and storage elements. The upholstered surrounds not only soften the physical and atmospheric attributes of an environment, but also define space and work to dampen the acoustics.
